Let it Be a Mystery!
So! Another wonderful inspirational day at the Grove..Pastor Colby spoke today about Hidden for Ages. It was very full of scripture so I almost had a flashback of the days that prevented me from coming back...but it was the last challenge of 3 that struck me. Simply put...EMBRACE MYSTERY. In order for us to understand the last challenge, Pastor Colby shared with us the miscarriage his wife suffered a couple of months back. If they had the chance, would they ever be able to accept an answer as to why she had a miscarriage? Of course not...never! Nothing would ever make their loss acceptable. He said that sometimes God's way of doing things is a mystery, and it's okay, as knowing the answers may be disappointing. So when you are presented with a big black box with a question mark on it (as we were at service) and you want to demand an answer or a reason for why this is happening, you should just embrace the mystery. What we learned at service that what was under the box...was...a... cheese grater? Yes a cheese grater! Point well taken! There was nothing spectacular hidden under the box...the church bells did not ring, lights did not flash from the Heavens to unveil this gift we had anticipated on seeing. Yes...we were d i s a p p o i n t e d. So we need to lean into Christ by putting our faith and trust in him that he will lead us in the right direction. I have been faced with many black boxes with question marks...Ive wanted understanding as to "why?"..."why is this happening to me?"..."what did I do to deserve this?" Now? Now I'm going to let go, and let God. Have a beautiful day, and embrace the mystery!
